As a result of networking with contacts on LinkedIn, Brewology was able to meet the demand of the Proton Group in their need for 1000 500ml bottles sanitizer holders.

Dominic Smith, the Operations Manager at Brewology spoke about how the project, despite the implications of the Coronavirus outbreak, involved the company completing the prototype design in record time.

Speaking about the product, Dominic said, “After the initial contact with the customer, I started drafting the prototype from the picture supplied by the customers allowing us to make a prototype in record 3 working days.”

This was followed by a visit by Dominic to the site of the customer, where COVID-19 safety guidelines, including social distancing, were observed, allowing Dominic to meet the customer to discuss their needs.

Dominic went on to talk about how through the power of collaboration, the team were able to save £3,000 on batch production. “After the initial prototype, we did have a brainstorming session with my design team, and we managed to reduce the cost by redesigning the prototype but keeping all of the functions the same. We have re-engineered it for mass production by performing this exercise and managing to save over £3000 on batch production.”

Once the company had received approval for the MK2 holder, Brewology made the order for the raw materials that would allow them to produce units. In total, it took the company 4 days to finish off production and to ship all 1000 units off to the customer, with a total lead-time from start to finish of 2 weeks.
